Forsyth Community Gardens

The next community garden to take a look at is the Forsyth Community Garden. Based in Winston-Salem, the Forsyth Community Gardens have more than 150 locations across Forsyth County. In their words, “Forsyth Community Gardening’s mission is to support residents in establishing and sustaining community gardens, primarily by developing local leaders’ skills in community organizing and sustainable horticulture. By growing gardens and garden leaders, we seek to improve residents’ access to fresh produce and nutrition, enhance environmental quality, provide outdoor educational opportunities for all ages, and promote social well-being.”

The Forsyth Gardens are doing a truly incredible job fulfilling their mission. Their dedication to both their community and to gardening is having an amazing impact across Forsyth. Along with their gardens they offer assistance to local gardening groups, offer partnerships with local organizations, and have an internship for high school students from northeast Winston-Salem. As we move forward, we would love the opportunity to work with an organization as established and impactful as the Forsyth Community Gardens.
