COVID-19 Update

Hello everyone! Our team wanted to give an update on the status of the Edible Landscape Initiative in light of the recent COVID-19 situation.

As of March 25th, East Carolina University closed its campus and sent all students home. All in-person classes have been transferred online until the end of the semester. As our team is made up entirely of freshman, we were all forced to leave the dorms and are now continuing classes from our homes. Not being able to have in-person meetings on a weekly basis seemed to be a huge problem at first, but we have continued to meet and make progress on this project every week by video conferencing #socialdistancing.

We have decided to use this time we've been given to focus our efforts into planning our social media campaign, looking into multiple funding opportunities, and growing our overall following. We are also using this time to further delve into creating our three phases of orchard development. Each phase will reflect a different budget, giving us options once we know the amount of funding we will be working with. We have our sights set on next semester when we will be able to hit the ground running once again.

We will be continuing to update everyone with our progress on our Instagram, as well as with blog posts, so please be on the lookout for future posts.
